NEW FOR 2018 - INVERNESS GALA NIGHT | Inverness City Centre & Northern Meeting Park - 18:00 - 22:00
The eve of the Inverness Highland Games is always a special night in Inverness with visitors from all around the world gathering in our city. This year our eve of Games entertainment will see the Inverness Gala move from Bught Park to our city centre. The festivities will get underway at 6pm with the Inverness Wheelbarrow Grand Prix in Inverness High Street organised by Inverness Culloden Rotary Club and performances by the City of Inverness Pipe Band and the Elizabeth Fraser School of Highland Dance. At 7pm everybody will follow the band to Northern Meeting Park just in time to welcome the competitors for the 2018 Highlands Strongest Man and Highland Strongest Woman Competition. Admission to the Strongman Show is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions - but if you buy your tickets for the Inverness Highland Games at the Box Office - you will be able to see the Strongman Show absolutely free. So you can enjoy two great events for the price of one AND you will get the chance to meet our 2018 Inverness Highland Games Cabers!

Founded in 1822 the Inverness Highland Games is one of the largest and most spectacular traditional gatherings staged in Scotland; and our 2018 looks like being one of the most unforgettable events yet. The show opens with a spectacular opening ceremony at 12:00 which will include a Mass Highland Fling that everybody is invited to join in. With something for everybody and lots of surprises during the course of 6 hours of unforgettable entertainment; a visit to the Inverness Highland Games contains everything you would expect at a traditional Highland Games and a whole lot more. This year we are delighted to host the Inverness Show and Shine Car Show in our outer field and you will get the chance to enjoy some of the most amazing and creative pieces of bodywork you will ever see.
