Inverness Highland Games | Bught Park, Inverness - 11.00 - 18.00
Founded in 1822 the Inverness Highland Games is one of the biggest and most spectacular traditional gatherings staged in Scotland; and 2017 looks like being one of the most unforgettable events yet. The show opens with a spectacular opening ceremony at 12:00 which includes a Mass Highland Fling that everybody is invited to join in. With something for everybody and lots of surprises during the course of 6hours of unforgettable entertainment; a visit to the Inverness Highland Games contains everything you would expect at a traditional Highland Games and a whole lot more. You will get the chance to enjoy our new Show and Shine Car Show and enter the track events held in front of the main stand. You will be able to explore Scotland's biggest Inter Clan Gathering; our famous Craft Fair; look for treatsures in our Traders Village and enjoy music in our Gathering Tent. With massed pipe bands, solo piping and a full programme of track and field and Heavy Events and Highland Dancing Competitions; you will quickly discover why a day on the banks of the River Ness with us is regarded as one of the highlights of any visit to the Highlands. (Due to parking restrictions due to the Bryan Adams Concert site build - we recommend that you allow yourself time to park in our city centre and stroll along the banks of the River Ness to Bught Park)
